Karu (Nasarawa)- The Etsu of Karu, Nasarawa State, Mr Luka Panya-Baba, has described the death of Karu local government council chairman, Mr Godwin Chindo, as a monumental loss.
Panya-Baba said the loss was not only to the people of his emirate, but also to the entire state and the nation as a whole.
Etsu Karu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in his palace in Karu on Sunday that he was deeply touched when he received the news that late Chindo had passed on.

“His death is a huge loss not only to our emirate, but also to Nasarawa state and the nation as a whole,” Panda-Baba said.
The traditional ruler noted that the deceased kept a humble and unassuming life of a technocrat throughout his tenure as chairman.
He said as a leader, he retained the respect of all and sundry.
The monarch said that the deceased had contributed immensely to the socio economic development of the area, Nasarawa state and indeed Nigeria, and will be ever remembered.
“He was a bridge builder, an amiable personality who is at home with his people and had touched the lives of many in a positive one way over the years,” said the Etsu Karu.
The traditional ruler said the deceased is a unifying force who worked for peace, unity and tolerance among diverse ethnic and religious interests cohabiting Karu kingdom.
While praying the Almighty God to grant late Chindo eternal rest, Panda-Baba enjoined the members of the family to bear the loss with calm and fortitude.
The royal father urged all and sundry in the state, particularly his bereaved family to be consoled by the fact that it is only God that gives and takes life whenever He pleases.
