LAGOS – European, American, Botswana and South African teams will feature at the 2014 Independence Rugby 7’s Tournament along with the winners from the South-West, South-East, the Northern and the South-South Rugby Leagues.

It said that the tournament would hold from Oct. 31 to Nov. — at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
According to the statement, Zaria Rugby Football Club (RFC) retained its slot at the top of the Northern Rugby League table after defeating Kaduna RFC 13-0 away from home.
It said that Zaria RFC had only lost one game and was leading with 32 points, followed by Barewa RFC with 23 points.
The statement said that Barewa RFC recorded victory from an entertaining match against its arch rival, Jos RFC.
In the South East League, Abia Buffalo defeated Imo Wildcat 25-0, according to the statement, which noted that the victory elevated the Buffalos to the top of the South-East League table.
It said that a former Black Stallion Captain, Adeniran Ahmed, had commended the organisers of the Independence Rugby 7’s for ensuring the continuity of the sport. (NAN)
