Ibadan – An event planner, Adeleke Adedokun, on Tuesday, appeared in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, charged with N1.3 million fraud.
Adedokun 32, whose office address is No. 4, Alaro Str., Sango, Ibadan, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretences and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Femi Omilana, told the court that the suspect fraudulently obtained N1.3 million from one Folashade Dixen on the pretext of supplying varieties of drinks at her sister’s wedding ceremony.
Omilana said, “Adedokun failed to supply the drinks and converted the money to his own use.’’
The prosecutor said that the accused thereby stole the amount.
He said that the suspect committed the offence in September in his residence at No. 11 Akorede St., Challenge, Ibadan.
Omilana said the offence contravened Sections 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol.11, Law of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.O Akande, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Nov. 28, for hearing.
