Ex-ANAN president urges FG to fix power, security

Nzekwe made this appeal during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ota, while reflecting on 26 years of uninterrupted democracy.
He stated that Nigeria has struggled with electricity issues over the past 26 years, which has significantly affected economic growth and productivity.
Nzekwe explained that manufacturers are among the worst hit by unstable power supply, as it forces them to operate at high production costs.
“Nigerians, particularly manufacturers, are calling on the Federal Government to urgently resolve power challenges to enable economic growth,” he said.
He added that resolving electricity issues would allow manufacturers to operate optimally, increase profits, and create more employment opportunities.
Nzekwe also noted that improved power supply would help reduce both unemployment and crime, as more people would be gainfully engaged in various jobs.
The former ANAN president further emphasised the need for the government to address security concerns, as investors are deterred by unsafe business environments. (NAN)
