Keffi – A former Sole Administrator of Akun Development Area of Nasarawa state, Mr Monday Nanza, has appealed to the youths to embrace skills acquisition programme and agriculture for self reliance.
Nanza told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Keffi, the headquarters of Keffi Local Government Area of the state on Friday, that the effort would also help the country to achieve food sufficiency, reduce unemployment and boost the socio-economic development of the people.
He also advised parents to educate and instil proper upbringing in their children for a better society.
Nanza said that since education remained the bedrock of any society, it became important, therefore, for parents to make education of their children a priority, adding that no society could develop without education of its citizens.
“I also want to appeal to the youth and other Nigerians to carry on with their educational pursuit with the seriousness it deserves.It is the lead way to success in life and a route to escape from poverty.
“Another way for the youth and Nigerians to be self reliant is to go back to farming, to ensure food security, boost the nation’s revenue profile and enhance its socio-economic development,” he said.
The council boss also urged Nigerians to pray for the country and President Muhammadu Buhari. in his efforts to salvage the economy from recession.
