Abuja (Sundiata Post) – A former governor of Plateau State, Amb. Fidelis Tapgun, has congratulated former governor Jonah Jang, on his 80th birthday.
Tapgun in a message sent to our correspondent said he prayed that Jang will live more fulfilling years on earth, praying that God will continue to grant him good health.
He acknowledged Jang’s contribution to the development of the State and asked that God will also grant him more wisdom to continue to guide the younger once towards to move Plateau forward.
On the death of another former governor’s parent, Joshua Dariye, Tapgun prayed that God will grant them eternal rest even as He will give Dariye the fortitude to bear the loss.
Dariye’s parents will be buried this weekend, our correspondent reports.
Dariye ruled Plateau from 1999 to 2007 and handed over to Jang, who was governor from 2007 to 2015, our correspondent says.
“On behalf of myself and family, I extend my felicitations to former Governor Jonah Jang and wish him more fruitful years.”
For Dariye he said: “It is a thing of joy that a son will bury his parents and not the other way round. I thank God that they produced a child who made them proud by contributing to the development of Plateau as governor and senator”, he said.
