LAGOS – Some ex-basketball players in Nigeria on Friday in Lagos lauded Nestle Milo for the development of basketball in the country.
They spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the venue of the 16thAnnual Secondary Schools Basketball Championships taking place at the National stadium, Lagos.
The players also praised the company for its continued sponsorship of this championship which started on Dec. 1 and will end on Dec. 6.

Nkechi Akashili, the Milo 2003 Most Valuable Player, said that Nestle Milo had performed creditably in the development of the sport.
Akashili described Nestle Milo as the best sponsor of basketball competition in the country.
“Players now have a better floor, called Milo Floor, to play on unlike what was obtainable in the past years.
“Milo now has a scoreboard of their own which is of good standard and a leather ball which used to be of rubber.
“Many changes have been recorded in this edition,” she said.
“Milo is more organised than its co-sponsors, Zenith and DSTV, in terms of facility”, another ex- national player, Chinweokwu Mary, said.
Sule Mohammed, a technical commissioner from Kogi State, also praised Milo for the sponsorship of this edition of the competition.
“I am opportuned to be part of Milo from the beginning since 1998.
“They have discovered a lot of young talents who have graduated to playing in the premier league.
“They provide jerseys and kits for the players; without Milo, I wondered what basketball would have looked like,” he said.
