Enugu, – The former Chairman, Nigeria Construction and Furniture Company (NCFC) Board, Enugu, Dr. Eric Odo, says he has mobilised thousands of supporters for Mr. Peter Mba, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the state.
Odo, also a former Special Adviser to the Governor on District Hospital, stated this on Sunday at his Ukehe residence, near Enugu.
The medical practitioner explained that the thousands of supporters were from major opposition parties in the area, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He said the supporters came together under his leadership to show total support for the candidature of Mbah.
Odo said that the essence of coming together was because of Mba’s rich understanding of where Enugu ought to be in terms of developments and technological advancement encapsulated in his manifesto.
He pointed out that these group of opposition members felt that supporting this kind of candidate was the only way to realise good governance anchored on rapid industrialisation and job creation for the people of Enugu state.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, commended Odo for the gesture.
Addressing the crowd, Ossai, who was represented by Mr Innocent Ezeoha, the PDP Deputy chairman in Enugu state, expressed happiness at the huge turnout of supporters, saying the gathering looked like a zonal rally.
Ossai assured the supporters of betters days ahead when Mbah emerges as the Governor of Enugu State come 2023.
In the same vein, the Executive Chairman of Igbo Etiti Local Government Area, Mr Ikenna Nwodo applauded, the organizers of the programme for their initiative. (NAN)
