Lagos- A former Super Falcons coach, Joy Etim, on Wednesday appealed to state governments to take over the funding of female football clubs as a way of boosting their career progression.
Etim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the female ballers were not getting the much needed funds to enhance their welfare in the existing clubs owned by private citizens.
“Without money, these girls cannot grow. Some of them are from poor home, the same finance and interest.

“You can’t define the female football and define male football; the definition is one.
“So I want them to take up the matter concerning female football where I belong.”
The coach, however, advised all female players to remain resolute in the pursuit of their careers. (NAN)
