Expert advises youths on ICT skills

Jos –  Mr Alfred Hamid, the Regional Manager, Skills for Jobs Africa, has advised youths to develop skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Hamid, an ICT expert gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Jos.

According to him, the academy is a global educational community, which prepares students for higher education in Computer Science, Software Engineering and Networking.

He said youths should be encouraged to deliver quality and affordable professional development, which
would create positive and impactful experiences in their lives.

“We need individuals, who have the desired knowledge and skills to help people thrive, build new commerce and become guardians of our planet,” he said.

The manager added that his networking academy identifies and develops skills that business people need to thrive in a digital economy.

“ICT works with educators, employers and technology experts to create and prepare learner students
for the future.’’

He said the internet had the power to enable learning for all students regardless of their locations and socio-economic status, gender or race.

“ICT supports this vision by helping people around the world to gain the skills needed to participate in the global economy,” he added. (NAN)
