Lagos – Mr Rogba Adeoye, Executive Secretary, Information Technology Systems Security Professionals (ITSSP), on Monday lauded the development of Information Communications Technology (ICT) in the country.
Adeoye said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the nation’s adoptions of new technology had improved business and eased process in private and public work places.
He said that the basis of ICT was the power of computer in steady process and timely adoption of 5G to speed up processes was commendable.
According to him, ”so, if government should adopt technology that would facilitate business within our environment and future endeavour, it should be acknowledged and applauded.
‘’We have every reason to be proud as a nation because most universities in Nigeria have departments of Computer Science that are producing graduates that are rising to the tasks.
‘’You cannot imagine if we have to be importing personnel to render such services.
‘’It should be noted that the services in question are of national importance. In fact, it is part of national critical infrastructure in ICT.
”Is it the BVN, NIN-SIM registration? We have the personal capable of handling the infrastructur, just name it.”
Adeoye said that the challenge was serious infrastructure gap in areas of power and Internet penetration in the country, adding, ”this is also being worked upon seriously by the state and Federal Governments.
The Executive Secretary said that the way forward was to increase funding, urging,”the CBN should pay more attention to ICT.
