Lagos – Mr Sam Ohuabunwa, the Chairman, African Centre for Business Development, says that development of young entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan African countries would unlock Africa’s potential for economic growth.
He said this on Monday in Lagos at the 2nd National Summit on Entrepreneurship and Innovation organised by African Centre for Business Development.
According to him, 72 per cent of Nigerian youths among those surveyed in Sub-Saharan Africa by Forbes Magazine expressed their readiness to adopt entrepreneurship in driving the nation’s development.
Ohuabunwa said that the report showed that 48 per cent of youths believed that job creation was the most important issue for the future.
He said that youths rated job creation above eradication of corruption which had 40 per cent, economic growth 30 per cent, health sanitation 30 per cent, while political stability scored 24 per cent.
Ohuabunwa advised government to partner the private-sector to boost job creation in Nigeria and minimise the barriers to entrepreneurial development in the country.
Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, said that viable economic growth was dependent on entrepreneurial development and thus the need to encourage youths to embrace the skills.
He said that sustainable

Prof. Pat Utomi, a political economist, said that entrepreneurship is about identifying the “dissatisfaction gaps in the society and taking quantum leap in solving them”. (NAN)
