ABUJA- Chief Tom Ikimi, the National Chairman of the National Disciplinary Committee of the PDP, has said that fairness, firmness, and decisiveness will restore the hope and confidence to the party.
Ikimi made this known in a statement in Abuja.
“We are hopeful that our fairness, firmness, and decisiveness will restore the hope and confidence of our great party to meet the expectations of our teeming membership nationwide and the Nigerian public who are desperate for an appropriate national leadership,” he said.
Ikimi urged all PDP members and leadership to give the committee the support and cooperation necessary to carry out its assignment successfully.
The chairman of the committee said that all petitions would be dealt with in accordance to the dictates of the PDP constitution, saying the party constitution clearly spelt out the ‘Offences and Sanctions’.
Ikimi said that the NDC was set to start its sitting/hearing, adding that it looked forward to receiving petitions and complaints from aggrieved members, through the National Working Committee, or as might be appropriately brought to its notice.
The 26-member Ikimi-led disciplinary committee has Eyitayo Jegede, SAN as secretary.
Other committee members include: Ex-Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, Chief Olabode George, (BoT), Rt. Hon. Margaret Icheen (BoT), Sen. Effiong Bob and former Ag. National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje among others. (NAN)
