Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Federal lawmaker representing Abia South, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has reacted to the multiple Facebook accounts purporting to belong to him, describing them as fake as he does not have any personal Social media account even as the Minority leader of the senate.
Abaribe made the clarification in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Minority leader of the Senate, Uche Awom sent to Sundiata Post.
The statement reads:
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has never had, neither does he currently has any personal social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, etc.) account, not even as the Minority leader of the Senate.
His office has been inundated in recent times with series of inquiries in this regard, to which the answer has always been in the negative.
The Senator’s office had made several efforts to block the fake handles, yet the conmen keep pushing on with their nefarious actions apparently to hoodwink and ultimately dupe the unsuspecting members of the public.
Unfortunately, reports available indicate yet again that there still exist multiple Facebook accounts purporting to belong to the Distinguished Senator.
The most dangerous and worrisome dimension is that the platforms have been deployed for monetary solicitations by the dubious individuals for a non-existing contracts and job placements.
Senator Abaribe neither awards contracts nor offer employments through the social media.
The truth as of today and even before now is that Senator Abaribe is not having any personal social media account.
The public should disregard any of such unverified accounts as they are nothing but fake, only meant to dupe members of the public.
Please beware as the Senator will not be held liable for anyone that is duped after subscribing to these unverified social media handles.
Uchenna Awom
Special Adviser on Media to the Minority leader of the Senate
