Residents claim the toll is higher, estimating 30 or more casualties, including a tragic loss of a family of seven. Eyewitnesses describe a brutal attack, with gunmen storming the settlement, shooting indiscriminately, and resorting to gruesome methods.
Msugh Aga, who narrowly escaped, recounts the assailants using long knives and setting houses ablaze. The caretaker Chairman of Ukum, Victor Iorzaa, confirmed the incident and has urged increased police presence to prevent further violence, while the Benue Police Command awaits an official report.
