Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has revealed why the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu is being sidelined in the affairs and operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, by his subordinate and Managing Director, Dr. Maikanti Baru.
He made the revelation while reacting to a petition credited to Ibe Kachikwu to President Buhari complaining of the recklessness of the NNPC Managing Director, Maikanti Baru in decision making and appointments in the corporation without due process and consultations.
Fani-Kayode alleged that Kachikwu is being sidelined and bypassed by the NNPC MD based on the fact that the Minister is an Igbo man and that President Buhari sees Igbos as slaves.
He disclosed this on his official twitter handle @realffk on Wednesday.
The tweet reads, “Why is Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, surprised that he has not been granted access to @MBuhari and that the northern MD of NNPC is undermining him?
“Did he expect it to be any different? Has he forgotten he is Igbo? To Buhari ALL southerners are slaves.”
Sundiata Post recalls that in the petition to President Buhari, Ibe Kachikwu had eaccused the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru of insubordination and humiliation.
The Minister also expressed disappointment that the petition he sent to the President on the matter could be leaked to the public.
