ADO-EKITI – Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State on Saturday raised alarm over allegations of snatching of ballot boxes during House of Assembly election by suspected hoodlums in parts of the state.
The governor said the polling units where the act was alleged to have been carried out included those in Ikole Local Government Area and Ilejemeje Local Government Area.
He told journalists at his Afao-Ekiti community where he voted, that it was sad that the electoral process that had gone peacefully earlier in the day could be punctured by political thugs.
Although he did not accuse any political party or individual as perpetrators of the act, he said that it was worrisome that people could carry their desperation too far.
Similarly, the immediate past governor of the state, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has alleged indiscriminate arrest of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state by persons suspected to be acting on the instruction of the state government.

He told reporters after casting his vote at his Ogilolo Ward 1 in Isan Ekiti that such action was calculated to weaken the party.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Albert Adeyemo, said that the command would investigate the allegations. (NAN)
