ABUJA – Kenyan President, Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday arrived Nigeria for a five-day official visit. The Kenyan leader, who would also attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Abuja this week, was received on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed.
Senator Bala Mohammed presented Kenyatta with the key to the city of Abuja which confers on him the honorary citizenship of Abuja. The Minister said the key also confers on him all the rights and privileges of a full-fledged citizen as a mark of respect for the strong friendship and cordial relationship between the people of Kenya and Nigeria.
The Kenyan presidential aircraft which brought the visiting President and his entourage touched down at the Abuja Airport at exactly 6.30pm, Nigerian time. Those who accompanied the FCT Minister to receive him include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali; the Nigerian High Commissioner in Kenya, Ambassador Akin Oyateru; the Permanent Secretary of FCT, Engr. John Chukwu and the Wife of FCT Minister, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, among others.
