ABUJA – Minister of FCT Bala Mohammed on Monday reverted all FCT agencies operating without enabling laws to their departmental status.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Muhammad Sule, Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, in Abuja.

The statement explained that it had become imperative for all the agencies to have laws to back their operations.

“This would enable the FCT Administration to defend them during budget sessions.

“All the affected agencies should revert to departments with immediate effect until National Assembly enacts appropriate law to back their operations.’’

The statement said the final engineering design of some designated Land Swap districts by nine developers had been completed, checked and approved by the administration.

It added that the new districts would assist in unbundling land and reduce housing deficit across the FCT.

It said FCTA had embarked on the extension of water supply to Abuja Technology Village and Private Developers’ Housing Estates to fast-track development in these areas.

“FCTA is also providing primary roads to mass housing areas to accelerate development and habitable environment for residents.’’

It said five out of six roads under resurfacing in Wuse I District had been completed and handed over to the FCTA.

“The final engineering design production of Tender Documents for Interceptor Sewer Schedule V for Kaura, Duboyi and other districts of Phases II & III of the Federal Capital City, are completed’’, it added. (NAN)
