ABUJA – Malam Abubakar Mohammed, the Director-General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), on Tuesday in Abuja approved the deployment of Mrs Edna Ofordile as the new FCT NDE coordinator.
Ofordile will also serve as the Vice chairman and member, Implementation Committee of the Community Service Women and Youth Employment (CSWYE) project of SURE-P in the FCT.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the new coordinator who was redeployed from Abia where she had served as state coordinator since 2005, said she was happy with her deployment.
“I am grateful to the director-general for giving me the opportunity to serve as the state coordinator in the FCT. [eap_ad_1] “FCT being the capital, the work will be more challenging but the job generation strategies are the same for all the states.
“So, it is for me to start from where my colleague had stopped, to ensure that the unemployed are touched through the NDE programmes.
“We hope to improve on what we have on ground.”
NAN reports that Ofordile is a graduate of building Technology with an MBA from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Ofordile replaces Mr Romuliyu Newton, who retired from service last week. (NAN)
