Bwari (FCT) – The Bwari chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in FCT on Saturday unanimously endorsed the candidature of Mr Danlami Abbas, former Councillor, Kuduru Ward, to represent the area at its National Congress.
Mr Bulus Hassan, Chairman of the congress, announced this while addressing party members that formed the Local Government Congress organised to pick the area’s national delegate.
Hassan, who is the Returning Officer for the congress sent from the FCT Secretariat, explained that his role was to ensure a smooth conduct of the election.
He said the consensus candidate emerged after a unanimous vote from all the 54 delegates across the 10 wards.
According to him, the candidate is the only one that bought and submitted the form to aspire for the delegate slot.
He lauded the participants for their orderly conduct at the congress, saying that their attitude had confirmed that there was unity amongst members of the chapter.
Speaking at the congress, Mr Jehzi Joseph, Chairman of PDP in Bwari, commended the members for agreeing to endorse a consensus candidate.
He said that such peaceful conduct had continued to characterise politics in Bwari.
