Abuja – The FCT Police Command has arrested three armed robbery suspects at Zuma villge in the FCT.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, who made the disclosure in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, said the suspects were arrested on July 27.
Manzah named the suspects as: Ibrahim Abubakar, 22, Suleiman Idris, 25 and Biraje Baupe, 24 from Tudun Wada and Baragoni villages in Bwari.
He said that the suspects confessed that they stole a motorcycle from a motorcyclist at gunpoint in Mpape.
He listed the items recovered from the suspects to include, one locally made revolver pistol, three live cartridges, one Bajaj Motorcycle, Tramadol tablets and assorted charms.
The spokesman said the arrest was the outcome of proactive measures deployed by the command to fight crime in the territory.
He said that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Kimo, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the command’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
Manzah said the command had commenced effort to identify the owner of the recovered motorcycle and possibly hand it over to him.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that on July 23, the command arrested a fleeing suspected Boko Haram member at Gwako area of Gwagwalada Area Council. (NAN)
