FCT Police CP decorates 18 new CSP

Abuja  – The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Wilson Inalegwu, has decorated 18 Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) that were recently promoted.
Inalegwu, who decorated the officers in Abuja on Monday, urged them to work hard as the promotion was a reward for their hard work and a call to for more work.
The officers are former FCT spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, Baba Audu, Simon Lough, Tino Dangana, Onuaho Emeka, Habila Lasaka, James Idachaba, Usman Tukura.
Others are Ibrahim Saidu, Coker Shado, Olayinka Sulu-Gambari, Usman Dalatu, Jelani Yahaya.
Among the decorated officers were five women. They are Nancy Obekpa-Alabi, Fidelia Okorie, Vivian Aworonye, Olutokunbo Ojo, Olabisi Davies.
“You have worked very hard, this is a call for more work, you will have to be on your toes 24 hours in a week,“ he said.
He said that the promotion was a stepping stone for higher rank for the officers in the police.
Inalegwu charged the officers to uphold the good name of the police by observing human rights in the discharge of their duties.
He reiterated the command’s readiness to work round the clock to ensure the safety of residents of the FCT.
He stressed that the command had surveillance in every nook and cranny of the FCT, adding that they had made several arrests in around area one and Berger junction.
“We are doing everything possible to make the FCT peaceful and the residents are helping.
“We will continue to work day and night to keep the FCT safe, we will not keep our eyes close,“ he said.
In a remark, former FCT commissioner of Police, Mr Lawrence Alobi, urged the officers to demonstrate democratic policing in discharging their duties.

He said that with their promotion, a lot would be required of them by the command and Nigerians.
“To whom much is given much is expected, this is the beginning of the promotion you have,“ he said.
Speaking on behalf of the officers, Jimoh promised to live up to the demands of the new ranks.
He commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, the Chairman, Police Service Commission and the FCT command for finding them worthy for promotion.(NAN)
