FCT Rep-elect pledges commitment to education sector

GWAGWALADA (FCT) – Alhaji Zakari Augulu-Dobi, House of Representatives-elect (APC-Abuja South) on , promised give priority to education/teachers constituency.

Augulu-Dobi, former of Gwagwalada Area Council, made the pledge when he received school head-teachers from the constituency who paid him a courtesy visit in Dobi.

He charged the teachers to remain united and committed for the benefit of the students and pupils in the area.

“We increase our commitment and to the education sector and the entire academic community in order to positively change the sector.

“Learning cannot be conducive without unity. Unity must start from the teachers, so let us keep aside our differences for the benefit of the students’’, he said.

Earlier, Hajiya Safiya Tukura, Headmistress, Dobi Primary School, who spoke on behalf of the head teachers, congratulated Angulu-Dobi for his and urged him to consider teachers’ welfare as paramount.

“We lack teachers and school infrastructure, among others. So, our case should be tabled before the National Assembly and we believe we will see changes’’, Tukura said. (NAN)
