Eze Bright scored his team’s consolatory goal in the 66th minute of the game.
Speaking at the end of the match, Akintola Aderemi, Head Coach of GSS Mpape, said his team needed to have put more efforts into the game.
“I’m not really happy with the outcome of the game because my players could not score more goals. We have fought well since the beginning of the competition, and we could have done better now.
“It is unfortunate that we could not win the third-place match, but we will go back home and prepare for the next edition of the competition,” he said.
On his part, Stephen Atsaakaa, the Head Coach of GSS Yebu, said he had expected a win because his team was determined to succeed in the game.
“It was a tough match. Our opponents were good with the ball but my players were determined to fight and to win the third-place prize.
“However, we started our preparations late because we got the information late. We will do better in next edition by preparing early so that we can finally win the cup,” he said.
A total of 70 schools registered for the competition.
