Abuja – The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello has said that the administration is working towards creating business friendly environment in Abuja, to provide more job opportunities for the residents.
Bello stated this when he received a delegation of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its President, Mr Tony Ejinkeonye on courtesy visit on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that the Chamber, as a member of the Organized Private Sector, is key to the government’s plan to generate massive employment for the citizenry.
“Your role cannot be overemphasized; that is why this government encourages you to generate employment for the teeming populace.
“The Federal Capital Territory needs commercial activities because Abuja has the ready market which is a veritable asset,” the minister said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Bello advised the Chamber to embark on a more aggressive membership drive to bring to its fold traders’ groups in markets and motor parks.
According to him, such engagement will go a long way in enhancing business activities and ensuring clean environment in markets and motor parks in the territory.
He said that the present FCT administration would soon organize the Abuja Economic Summit and enjoined the Chamber to key in and participates actively.
Earlier, Ejinkeonye had told the minister that the Chamber is ready to forge partnership with the FCT Administration to take Abuja to the next level of development.
The FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye, the Group Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited, Dr Musa Ahmed and other officials of the FCT Administration were in attendance.(NAN)
