ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – Dr Rufus Ebegba, FCT’s Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Chairman has tasked the media and the government on the need to be accountable to the people of Delta State, in the face of harsh economic realities.
Ebegba state this in Abuja on Sunday that the present harsh economic realities being experienced is not limited to Delta alone.
He said it is the job of the media and government to educate the people and guide them in surviving the hard times.
Ebegba who is also an indigene of Delta, said there is a common saying that explains that hard times does not last but hard people do.
“At this time, I believe it is important for the media and the government of Delta to inform the people about the true state of the economy.
“Today, the people of Delta suffer, but are only blaming the Federal Government for the pain occasioned by subsidy removal and increase in cost of living,” he said.
Ebegba urged the media to sensitise the people on the activities of government for the benefit and advancement of Delta. (NAN)
