“We are at a crossroad; (If) we do it right, we’ll get our country perfect, peaceful (and) united. (If) we do it wrong, it may not be the end of Nigeria, (but) difficult times will (surely) be ahead.“

The former governor criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its inability to distribute the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in some parts of the country.
He expressed regret that the gains of the PVCs biometry might not materialise if the owners of the cards could not collect them before the elections.
He said, “It is not apathy; at some places you can easily get your permanent voter cards, at some other places it is mission impossible to get your card.
“Even in Lagos, those who aren’t indigenes do not get the cards no matter how they try and you know that our people are very busy with their businesses.
“If you then make it so difficult for them to get the cards, they’ll let you have it.“
Ezeife, therefore, urged INEC to step up efforts at ensuring that the outstanding cards were distributed to registered voters before the general election in order not to disenfranchise eligible. (NAN)
