Fom Daniel Chollom, the lawmaker representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in Plateau State at the House of Representatives, has officially defected from the Labour Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Chollom announced his decision on Tuesday during a plenary session, following the submission of his resignation letter. He cited leadership divisions within the Labour Party and his commitment to supporting the government’s vision for national progress as reasons for his departure.
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read Chollom’s resignation letter, confirming that all procedural requirements for the defection had been fulfilled.
This move follows a trend, as at least five other federal lawmakers recently left the Labour Party for the APC.
More updates are expected as the story develops.
