Kashere (Gombe) The Federal University, Kashere in Gombe State on Saturday graduated 160 of its students, being the pioneer graduates of the institution since its establishment in 2011.

Speaking at the maiden Convocation ceremony, Vice –Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Umar Faruk, said that the graduants had excelled both in character and learning and also satisfied other requirements expected of a graduating student.
He said that three of the students graduated with First Class, 54 Second Class Upper Division, 94 got a Second Class Lower Division while nine got Third Class degree.
“Today, we are witnessing the Convocation Ceremony of our pioneer students, which is one of the highest moments of this university.
“The University started with 250 students in two faculties. Today we are graduating 160 students who have fulfilled all the requirements for graduation, as they were found worthy both in learning and in character.
“Out of the 160 graduands, three earned first class, 54 have second class (Upper Division), 94 have second class (Lower Division) and 9 have third class degrees,’’ he said.
He congratulated the grandaunts and urged them to remain good ambassadors of the institution.
The Chancellor of the University and `Ochi’Idoma’, Dr Elias Obekpaon , pledged to work for the progress of the institution.
He congratulated the graduands and advised them to be good ambassadors of the university.
The chancellor further called on all stakeholders to support the Federal Government by providing financial and other kinds of support for the development of the university. (NAN)
