Enugu -The Confluence Queens of Lokoja on Wednesday smacked Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt 2-1 in the Female Federation Cup quarter-finals played in Enugu.

Rivers Angels took the initiative through Cecilia Nku in the eighth minute while Aluko Miriam restored parity for the Lokoja Queens in the 49th minute.
Ike Ginika sealed the win for Lokoja Queens in the 87th minute from a loose ball in the 18-yard box.
The coach of the Confluence Queens, Suleiman Adamu, praised the players for their resilience even when going one goal down in the space of eight minutes.
He said that his team was able to come back following his encouragement to them.
“I told the players that in as much as Rivers Angels can score in the eighth minute, they too can score in the same space of time in the second half and which they almost did.
“We are going to approach other matches with seriousness to keep wining and make our fans and the state government proud.
“Now we have overcome Rivers Angels, our next target is the cup which I am hoping will be delivered at the end of the competition.
The coach of the Rivers Angels, Nwatu Udemba, said that the two teams tried their best and at the end the best teams won.
“Football is all about scoring goals and we lost lots of chances but our opponent luckily scored with their two chances in the game.
“We were on top with one goal in the first half but we lost concentration in the second half that caused us the game.
As it stands now, we have met the end of our road in the Federation Cup. All our attention will be on the league in which we are going to do our best to take home,” Udemba said. (NAN)
