Abuja- The President, Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), Hassan Dahiru, said on Tuesday that efforts were on to secure major sponsors for the federation’s activities for 2015.
Dahiru said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
He said the idea was to make the federation independent of government funding to enable it to finance its activities properly.
“We are going to improve on sponsorship this year.
“The sponsorship drive will be in the corporate world and we are going to approach Guinness, Nestle, Lucozade, MTN and GLO,’’ Dahiru said.

The FEPSGA boss expressed the hope that talks for the sponsorship would be concluded before the end of first quarter of 2015.
Dahiru also told NAN efforts were being intensified to unite the factions in the federation to give room for more government parastatal agencies to join in the activities of the federation.
“We want to build an all-inclusive association and the feuding parties will be brought together for us to have a united federation of public servants.
“We will ensure that government parastatals and agencies that are yet to join FEPSGA will do so this year; we have started with Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).
“Others will follow soon, especially Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), which leadership organises its own activity; we will ensure these return to the FEPSGA fold,’’ he added.
NAN reports that the Dahiru-led executive of FEPSGA assumed duty in September 2014 following the defeat of the former president, Victor Orji, in an election.
FEPSGA is an association that promotes mass participation in sports among members of staff of various government Ministries, parastatals and agencies. (NAN)
