The Federal Government has started selling 50kg bags of rice to public servants in Abuja at a subsidized price of ₦40,000 per bag to help alleviate the food crisis.
This initiative was announced in a circular dated August 1, signed by Jaiyesimi Abimbola, Director of Human Resource Management at the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Public servants interested in buying the rice must fill out a Google form on the OHCSF website, print it, and submit it to the Director of HR for approval. Payment and distribution will be managed by designated officials, with the Chairman of the Joint Union Council of the Ministry observing for transparency.
Each staff member can buy one bag, and multiple staff members can pool their money to buy a bag to share.
