Executive secretary of DAPPMA, Femi Adewole during the week, told LEADERSHIP that the current monopoly of petrol import by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) would not stabilise the system as the agency lacks the capacity to satisfy local fuel requirement.
He said, Major Marketers have backed out from the import arrangement following non settlement of the debt.
However, the NPA informed that 26 ships loaded with petroleum products, food items and other commodities would be arriving Lagos sea ports this week.
The NPA in its publication, ”Daily Shipping Position,” disclosed that the expected ships contained petrol, kerosene, diesel, containers, general cargo, fish, bulk gypsum and bulk wheat.
