The Federal Government has lifted the suspension on Arik Air’s operations.
This decision was announced on Thursday by Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
The airline’s planes had been grounded for over a week before this announcement.
According to sources, the grounding impacted all of Arik Air’s aircraft, even though official reports stated that only four planes were grounded due to a court order.
One source mentioned that Arik Air has three operational planes and one standby plane, all of which were affected by the court’s ruling.
Following the minister’s directive, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) prevented the planes from taking off.
However, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) acted as though Arik Air had additional planes in operation, which was not the case.
