The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called in the management of Air Peace Limited due to the airline’s frequent flight delays and cancellations.
In a statement released on Friday, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, said the authority is concerned that these delays and cancellations are disrupting passengers’ plans. He added that the NCAA believes Air Peace needs to take urgent corrective steps to improve its operations.
The statement followed a meeting between the Director General of the NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, and the airline’s management.
Najomo explained that the NCAA has received many complaints from passengers about the regular delays and flight cancellations by Air Peace.
“NCAA will continue to support the airlines, the operators must comply with the regulations and global best practices,” Najomo said.
The NCAA acknowledged that airlines face operational challenges. However, the agency said it will increase its monitoring efforts to ensure all airlines stick to their flight schedules and meet operational standards.
Najomo also assured the public that the NCAA will always protect passengers’ rights and ensure safety is never compromised.
