Abuja – Peter Dedevbo, Head Coach of Nigeria’s national under-20 female football team, has invited 30 players to camp for preparations for their third round qualifying fixture against Democratic Republic of Congo.
In a statement on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website on Thursday, the team is expected to resume camping on Saturday at the Serob Legacy Hotel in Abuja.
Both teams will play the first leg game of the fixture, which is part of ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, between Sept. 25 and Sept. 27.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that winners of the Nigeria/DR Congo fixture will meet winners of the clash between Zambia and South Africa in the qualifiers’ final round.
The Falconets had dismissed Liberia 14-1 aggregate in the second round of the qualifiers, while DR Congo eliminated Namibia 5-0 on aggregate.
The other sector of the qualifying series will see Burkina Faso take on Ethiopia, while Equatorial Guinea will host Ghana’s Black Princesses.
The two top teams will represent Africa at the eighth edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup billed for Papua New Guinea from Oct. 28 to Nov. 16, 2016.
