BAMAKO – Fighting broke out for the second day in a town in Mali’s desert north on Friday between pro-government militia fighters and Tuareg rebels, three town residents and a fighter said.
“The sound (of gunfire) is more intense than yesterday. It started up again around 5:00 a.m. this morning,” one resident of Kidal told Reuters, asking not to be named for fear of reprisals from the armed groups. (Reuters)
