Fire destroys 50 shops in Lagos

LAGOS – At least 50 shops containing planks and other building materials were on Monday morning destroyed by fire in Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.

The Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasaq Fadipe, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. [eap_ad_1] He said that two vehicles and cutting machines were also burnt but gave the assurance that no life was lost.

Fadipe said that the incident happened at Sawmill, U-Turn Bus Stop, Abule-Egba.

He said that firemen put out the fire after fighting  with it for hours.

Fadipe told NAN that the cause of the fire had yet to be known. (NAN)
