Firm to organise maiden broadcast award competition

ABUJA – Licia and Media Consultants Ltd., a marketing firm, says it will organise a Nigeria Young Broadcaster Award (NYB) sensitise youths importance of broadcasting.

This is contained in a statement by Principal Consultant of company, Mr Lola Oladimeji and issued in Abuja Tuesday.

Nigeria Young Broadcasters Award is first of its kind in Nigeria aimed at promoting broadcasting industry.

“ The NYB is also aimed at promoting journalism in secondary schools and is proudly supported by African Independent Television (AIT),” it said.

According the statement, the will coincide with the annual ’s day celebration which normally takes place May 27 of every year.

The statement said that the would help young in the secondary schools and shape their line of career as young broadcasters and at an early stage.

It stated that the aim of the competition to get them accustomed to what broadcasting and media entailed even before acquiring requisite certification.

“ This competition is also to encourage content creation from the point of view of young .

“ The competition is to create a to bring forth issues as they affect the Nigerian child,” it stressed.

The statement said that the competition would benefit the young immensely, especially as they would be introduced gradually to broadcasting and media .

It said the event would also acquaint them with the of media equipment ahead of the 2015 digitisation and bring out next generation of young broadcasters in all spheres of the media.

According to the statement, the winner will automatically become a member of production team for a teen/youth programme AIT or any radio station.

Other prizes to be won are lap tops, Ipads and midgets. (NAN)
