FirstBank of Nigeria has issued an important warning to its customers about the risk of hackers.

In a message sent to its customers, the bank provided several tips to help protect accounts and ensure safe online transactions.

The notice includes the following advice:

  1. Verify the authenticity of emails, texts, and login pages.
  2. Be cautious when downloading apps or providing payment information.
  3. Avoid clicking on suspicious links or sharing sensitive information.
  4. Enable transaction notifications and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  5. Keep your devices and software updated.
  6. Only interact with merchants through official channels.
  7. Regularly monitor your accounts for suspicious activity and report anything unusual.
  8. Be aware of cyber threats and take precautions while transacting online.
  9. Ensure your records with the bank are up to date by visiting any branch.
  10. Never share your online banking password, token response, card number, or ATM PIN with anyone.

FirstBank encourages customers to stay vigilant and take these steps to safeguard their accounts from potential threats.
