Oslo – First electric buses will be used in Norway’s capital city Oslo in November, a media report said on Thursday.
According to the report, three bus lines will get two electric buses each for a test period of two years.
The cost of the test programme is 43 million kroner (5.06 million dollars) and is supported by the Norwegian state-owned enterprise Enova.
Chief technology officer in environmental organisation, Marius Gjerset, said that given zero low level of emissions and noises, the buses will open up possibilities for, among others, indoor bus stops.
According to the report, Oslo faces a number of challenges in using the electric buses, especially in winter, when low temperatures affect battery performance
