The Federal Government, in 2012, set up a Presidential Committee headed by Alhaji Aliko Dangote to mobilise funds for the rehabilitation flood victims in the country.
He explained that the contract was awarded to reputable contactors who
would construct permanent centres where victims of flood disaster
would be camped during such disasters.
Lugga said that the committee had raised N750 million to assist victims of insurgency, cattle rustlers and communal clashes in 10 selected states of the country.
According to him, Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi, Nassarawa, Benue, Yobe, Adamawa,
Borno, Plateau and Gombe states would benefit from the N750 million.
The Ward Head of Gwalaga, Malam Dandada Ahmadu, while responding on
behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the Federal Government over the gesture.
