Abuja -Kashimawo Laloko, former Technical Director of Nigeria Football Association (NFA), has charged Sunday Oliseh, Super Eagles Head Coach, to concentrate on building standing team for the country.
Laloko told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), that the trial and error period should be over now, having qualified for the group stage of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
According to Laloko, Oliseh should have identified the players that would form the nucleus of the new Super Eagles that would guarantee the country’s qualification for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“Oliseh should not continue with trial and error. He, however, needs to know his players by now.
“He should be made to understand that we don’t need any further trial and error; we need a proper team to play and blend.
“The team’s coaching crew need to get everybody to work and get the players to do their job.
“The technical crew must also be fair in the selection of players’’, Laloko said.
He urged the coach not to take any team for granted as far as the World Cup and AFCON group qualifiers are concerned.
“If we have beaten Swaziland in Port Harcourt after a 0-0 draw in Lobamba, why can’t we survive the group stage?
“The team should be more serious and not take any team for granted.
“I hope the Eagles top their group in the World Cup qualifiers and I am confident they will scale through the hurdles; we shouldn’t look down on any team’’, he said.
Laloko urged Nigerians to keep on supporting the team in its bid to pick a qualification ticket for the country in both championships.
NAN reports that Egypt is leading Group G of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers with six points from two matches, followed by Nigeria on four points.
