BAUCHI – The Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Bauchi chapter, has held a prayer session for the smooth conduct of the 2015 general elections in the state and in the country at large.
The Chairperson of the association, Hajiya Yagana Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]Monday in Bauchi that the prayers were organised to seek God’s intervention during the elections.
She said that the prayer session comprised recitation of the Holy Quran for peace in the country.
According to her, the 2015 election is another milestone in the nation’s democracy.
She said that the participants prayed for peaceful co-existence in the country, reciting the Holy Quran, as well as praying for the smooth conduct of the 2015 general election across the country.
Gidado said the association would further organise sensitisation programmes for women, on the importance of casting their votes during the election. (NAN)
