Former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has agreed to attend his trial on June 13th at the Federal High Court in Abuja, as directed by the court.
Bello, facing a 19-count charge of money laundering brought by the EFCC, had previously failed to appear, citing concerns for his safety.
However, his counsel assured the court that Bello will present himself, contingent upon assurances of his safety. The court dismissed a plea to postpone proceedings, emphasizing the importance of obeying its orders, even if subject to appeal.
