Barrister Chijioke Edeoga has officially rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) weeks after meeting with the party’s leadership.
Edeoga initially left the PDP following its primary election and contested under the Labour Party (LP), where he posed a strong challenge to the then-PDP candidate and now Governor, Peter Mbah.
However, the PDP chairman in Enugu State, Hon. Martin Chukwunweike, recently visited Edeoga at his residence, urging him to return to the party. Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) also attempted to woo him into their fold.
Signs of Edeoga’s decision became clearer last week when he met with LP stakeholders in his Isi-Uzo Local Government Area and presented both PDP and APC as options. The stakeholders, however, favored his return to the PDP.
On Monday, Edeoga officially arrived at the PDP secretariat in Enugu, describing his decision as a “homecoming.”
