Lagos – Mr Adewale Abolurin, former Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on Tuesday urged officers of the corps to sustain the campaign against vandalism.
Abolurin, who made the call in Lagos at his pulling out ceremony, organised by the NSCDC Lagos command, charged them to ensure that vandals were dragged out of the country.
“You can only ensure stoppage of vandalism by remaining resolute, committed and with great skill, and I’m sure you will get to the root.
“Our vision is to establish a corps with integrity and credibility, to ensure the corps operates on the basis of humility and transform the society which we have achieved.
“For us to develop and grow, we need to do it in a righteous and committed manner,’’ the immediate past NSCDC boss said.
Abolurin also advised the officers to continue to create synergy with other security agencies because no one can live in isolation and succeed.
“For one to succeed, you need the contribution of others and when you combine the efforts and experiences of others and information, it will assist you to excel,’’ he said.
In his speech, the Lagos State NSCDC Commandant, Mr Gabriel Abafi, appreciated the relentless efforts of the former commandant-general in curbing pipeline vandalism.
While presenting him with gifts, Abafi also wished him well in his endeavours.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abolurin was the commandant-general of the corps between 2005 and 2015.
