Christian Chukwu, a former coach of the Super Eagles, has passed away, according to a report by Vanguard Newspaper.
Chukwu, who was popularly called “Chairman,” captained the Green Eagles—now known as the Super Eagles—when the team won the African Nations Cup in 1980.
Vanguard reported that Chukwu, who also played for Rangers International of Enugu, died early this Saturday morning.
He was 74 years old.
