Minna – Sanbell Foundation, a Non-Governmental organization, founded by Col. Sani Bello has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to recent flood victims in Niger state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report that the items donated include 100 bags of rice, millets, maize, cartons of groundnut oil, and blankets.
Alhaji Usman Bello, the Vice Chairman of the Foundation, while making the presentation said the materials were part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility to people affected by disasters.
According to him, they are to help reduce hardship of the victims.
He also said that the foundation had assisted youths and women in the areas of education, medical treatment and empowerment through ICT, and skills acquisition programmes.
Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger, commended the foundation for the gesture and gave assurance that the relief materials would be equitably distributed.
Bello, who was represented by Deputy Governor Ahmed ketso said that items would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings faced by the victims.
He disclosed that the state government was working with disaster management agencies in the country towards finding a lasting solution to the perennial flooding in the state.
